Fragments of my Heart, Collected

How is it that you know I walk so far behind you, Silently, unseen, With bleeding heart weighed in stone; Carved to fail as you test my love.

Every day I shed tears and cry as you discard ever larger fragments of my heart As white pearls cast fearlessly on reddened water; Thrown carelessly, abandoned to the deep.

Yet I walk so far behind you With breath abated; Collecting fragments of my heart, Waiting to survive and have you speak to me with the voice of love.

Is that Incoming I hear?
